I have been making art the majority of my life. My formal education is in art, earning both a bachelors and masters of fine art degrees. I first studied with Les Krims (SUNY College at Buffalo) and later earned my MFA with Sonia Landy Sheridan (The School of the Art Institute of Chicago). I currently live in the Pacific Northwest where I am also an Arts Commissioner for the City of Bellevue, WA. This website has been developed to showcase my work. Please feel free to contact me if you find the work to be of interest.

Artist statement:

I am interested in exploring and creating a visual lexicon that will communicate to the viewer while at the same time challenge them to question their preconceived ideas of the world around them. I ask the viewer to look at the ordinary and see it for the first time as a child might discover new things and be curious and amused.

The tension between what is seen and what is known about the images is always present. The more time one spends with the images, the more is revealed about what one knows and what one actually sees and experiences.

My work is eclectic to the degree that I strive to find and present images that have not been seen before. My interest is to make pictures that are at the same time ordinary and challenging to the viewer. Over the years I have created works that are both from the world or manufactured in the studio. The commonality of both these types of images is the uniqueness of what I believe is presented to the viewer.
